Bringing People Together

Circle Sq. will connect you to others like you, in their achievements, success and the way they’ve used their time on this planet so far. People with nothing to prove but something to give. We run events, we form clubs, we meet, we converse, we do things together, for fun, for stimulation, for profit and to change the world.

Grab a coffee and join us for a Zoom chat every Thursday at 11am as we adjust to our ‘new normal’ during the Coronavirus outbreak. Share your experiences, offer ideas and advice on how to cope, or simply listen. Everybody is welcome.

Adam Le Bor Storytelling Workshop

HOW TO WRITE A CRACKING STORY
A Short Course in Storytelling with Adam LeBor

Everybody has a story to tell. It might be one inspired by your own life or a completely fictional creation. How to Write A Cracking Story will help you tell it. The course comprises six three-hour workshops, spread over 12 weeks. Each participant will also have two private one-to-one 30 minute sessions with Adam.

The course is based around a simple, easy to use framework for writing fiction, whether a short story or a complete novel. There is no need to have any specialist knowledge of literature or writing, or previous experience. It’s a course of workshops for everybody who would like to write fiction or simply improve their story-telling skills.

Each workshop will focus on one aspect of the basic building blocks of creative story-telling: creating a protagonist, an antagonist, a series of obstacles, a narrative arc, vivid scene-setting and snappy dialogue. These six focal points will give participants a straightforward took kit with which to create rounded, engaging characters and then deploy them in evocative settings to make an enthralling narrative. By the end of the course participants will also have increased their understanding of how other fictional narratives are constructed, which will bring an extra dimension to their own reading.

Adam LeBor is the author of fourteen critically-acclaimed books, including eight non-fiction works and six novels in the thriller genre. He is a tutor with the Arvon Foundation, Britain’s leading literary foundation, and reviews thrillers for the Financial Times.
