Lunchtime Lecture: “Painting With Glass” with Ardyn Halter
Ardyn Halter has painted and exhibited from childhood, having exhibitions aged 9 and 12. He has enjoyed many successful solo exhibitions across the globe including London, Israel, France, Italy, Spain and America. His works can be found in many public collections such as The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, The New York Public Library, The British Library, and The Open Museum, Israel. His most recent museum solo shows were in 2016 – 2017 at The Open Museum, Tefen, Israel and The Open Museum, Omer, Israel.
Recently, his works were prominently featured in the Naked Soul: Chaïm Soutine exhibition at the Mishkan Museum of Art in Ein Harod, Israel (September 2019 – March 2020). This show was co-curated by the chief curator of The Pushkin Museum, Moscow.
Halter works with varied mediums including silkscreen, oil painting, and stained glass installations. At present he is painting in oils and working on commissioned stained glass projects. His most recent commissions were two large stained glass windows for Highgate Synagogue in London and four for a public library in Ohio, USA.
Halter has won several awards for his art including the National Print Exhibition First Prize: Julian Trevelyan Hon RE Memorial Award and the Gavin Graham Outstanding Printer Award, both at the 1998 National Print Exhibition.
